Important Eclipse Information

On Monday, August 21st, there will be a solar eclipse.  Because of the potential danger if an individual looks at the sun, the New Castle Community School Corporation is taking the following precautions:  Students will not go outside on Monday from noon until the end of the school day.  If students participate in outside after school activities, they will not go outside until 4:00.  Students who do not participate in after school activities will be dismissed at their regular times. Please contact the school principal if you have questions or need clarification.

HS students at an afternoon convo on Thurs., August 24 in Bundy.

She'll share with parents/guardians in Bundy, same day at 6:30 p.m.

Mark your calendar for the New Castle Homecoming the weekend of September 29-30. Every four years the entire Trojan family reconnects for Homecoming. On Saturday, the traditional Homecoming Parade will line the streets at 10:00 a.m. with floats from many different classes, clubs, and distinguished alumni. The Trojan football team will follow with a 1:00 p.m. game vs. Mount Vernon. The New Castle Fieldhouse will be set up for the decades of alumni from the 30’s thru 2010’s. New Castle High School will host the 58th Annual Achievement Day Program on September 29, at 1:30 pm. The 2017 program will feature Dr. Jennifer McComick as the honored speaker. Dr. McCormick graduated from New Castle in 1987. She was elected as the Indiana State Superintendent of Public Education in November of 2016. She will address the New Castle student body, faculty/staff, and honored guests during the program in Bundy Auditorium. Dr. McCormick attended Purdue University and graduated in 1993 with a Bachelor’s in Education. She later earned a M.S. in Special Education in 1999 and a Doctorate from Indiana State Univ. in 2011. During her teaching career, Jennifer taught special education and language arts. She became an elementary principal in 2004, named Yorktown’s Assistant Superintendent in 2007, before being appointed Superintendent in 2010.

  2. On 11/17/16, we received our A-F grade for the 2015-16 school year; NCHS earned an 88.8% or a grade equivalent of "B+" (up over last year). Our Eng. 10 & Alg. I passing %'s were each 14% over IN ave. passing %'s. Congrats students & teachers!

  4. PowerSchool parent  logon has changed to single sign-on method. You will still use the Parent/student info link to the left. You will need to follow directions at this link to create your new account (this will open in a new window). Everyone must create a new account. You will be able to use one log-on for your multiple students.
