NCMS DAILY ANNOUNCEMENTS

September 20, 2018

**IMPORTANT - PLEASE READ**

dontforgetMeal applications from the 17/18 school year expired 9/18/18.  Multiple school reach messages have been sent to the families who have not reapplied this year.  Letters were mailed home last week as a reminder that their status will change to full pay and textbook rental will be collected.

Families can apply for assistance at any time.  Applications are available in all school offices and online at www.lunchapplication.com.

It has been brought to our attention that there are several vehicles being driven too fast in the front drive-through lane of the school during pick-up and drop-off times. These are isolated incidents but nonetheless, NCMS feels it is necessary to remind anyone using the front drive, or staff parking lot, for picking up or dropping off students - to please watch your speed!

Chromebook Chargers

Attention students: The NCMS bookstore now stocks replacement Chromebook chargers.  Chargers are $15.00 and can be purchased directly from the bookstore instead of having to replace by ordering it online.  If you have lost or damaged your charger, please replace it at the bookstore to save yourself money in fees.

Kroger community rewards

KROGER PLUS CARD FAMILIES - PLEASE READ!

**IMPORTANT**  NCMS has been issued a new NPO number: HL914

If you shop at Kroger and have a Kroger Plus Card (or sign up to get one now!), have you signed up yet for Kroger Community Rewards for New Castle Middle School??  So far NCMS has received several hundreds of dollars with just 92 households signed up and participating in this program!  This money helps NCMS in many ways.  Imagine how much our school could benefit from this program if ALL of our Kroger Plus card holders (parents, guardians, grandparents, friends, etc.) would sign up and join by linking your Plus card to our school and help us earn Rewards Money!!  You will first need a Kroger Plus card (if you don't have one - please go apply for a Plus card and sign up for the program!); you will then need to go to Kroger.com and select the register button, enter your information and "Create Account".  Please make sure you add your Kroger Plus Card number when registering your digital account.  Your Plus Card number is required when signing up for Community Rewards so that your transactions apply to New Castle Middle School.  Once you are signed in to your account, scroll down to the "Community Rewards" link and select "Enroll Now".  You can search for New Castle Middle School, or to make things easier, they will ask for a "NPO #" of the organization you wish to support; New Castle Middle School's NPO number is HL914, then select "Save" and you're done!  Here is the link to the original information sheet that was sent out with the beginning of the year newsletter if you would like to review it.  Thank you in advance for supporting New Castle Middle School in this wonderful program!
***We started out in the beginning of the 16/17 school year with only 1 family signed up in this program, we are now up to 92 households!  What a difference it has made!  If you have not yet signed up - please do and help out the students at NCMS!!***

COMMUNITY SERVICE OPPORTUNITY

STUDENTS:  You are required to have 2 hours of community service by the end of the school year.

Candy for Community Service drawings have started on Fridays during lunch.  Do you have your community service completed?  Yes?  Awesome!  If not, you can get your paper or donations to the office and we will get your name marked off!  Will your number be picked?

*Also a reminder:  you can still continue to bring in other items as well, (such as pop tabs, newspapers, old cell phones, pencils, etc.) and/or community service activities (such as bell ringing, volunteering, etc.)! (Please see the Community Service Bulletin Board!)

**Would you like an easy way to take care of your community service?  You can bring in Box Tops for Education and receive community Service credit.  Just have your parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, guardians, friends, etc. save them from the products we all already buy!  Look for the box top on the package and cut it out, then turn it in to the front office!  Easy Peasy!

food4kids

In collaboration with Little Blessings Church, we at NCMS have started a Food 4 Kids Program.  The program will provide snacks once a week for students to take home on Friday afternoons FREE OF CHARGE!

By choosing to enroll, the School's Food 4 Kids coordinator will distribute preassembled bags to your child once a week.  The Program will continue until school ends or you desire to end your child's membership.

There are forms available in the office at the middle school or by clicking this link you may download, print and fill out your own form.  Return the form to the NCMS MAIN OFFICE in order to receive the snack bag.

We encourage you to take advantage of this program for your child.  If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact Jennifer Davis at This email address is being protected from spambots.
