Welcome Back,

 

            On behalf of the Board of Trustees, Administration, Teachers and Staff, welcome to the 2010-11 school year! School begins for students on August 23^rd. We are looking forward to a great school year.

 

            I am thrilled to be serving as Superintendent of the New Castle Community School Corporation where there is a long tradition of excellence in all we do. We continue to emphasize excellence because we believe that our students deserve a high level of success in academics and extra-curricular activities.

 

            Whether it is challenging curriculum, performing and fine arts, athletics, clubs, or other student activities, NCCSC has it all. We provide an exemplary education that uses the 8-Step Instructional Process that features instruction that ensures quality teaching of Indiana Academic Standards by our outstanding educators.

 

            One of the major initiatives we stress to our teachers is the importance of teacher-parent partnerships to find maximum success in every child. I have urged our teachers and administrators to collaborate with parents when need be. Our students and their parents are our “customers” and I have committed our teachers and support staff to providing exemplary “customer service”.

 

            As a new school year starts, it is important for each of us to remember what a difference we make in the children’s lives. We know that children are more successful in school when their parents become involved in their education. It only takes a small increase in parent input to see measurable results in student performance. Remember, the family provides the child’s primary educational environment, parent involvement in their child’s education improves achievement, and parent involvement can last a lifetime; they are not confined to the elementary level; stay involved through your child’s middle and high school years.

 

            As parents and teachers, we can work together as a team. Let’s make 2010-11 a great year. You are always welcome in the New Castle Schools.
