7:45 - 8:15 Arrival/sign in/table activity/lunch count/announcements/pledge

8:15 - 8:40 Circle Time

8:40 - 9:00 Word Work: working with letters, sounds and words

9:00 - 9:30 Shared Reading:

Day 1: Build prior knowledge, share experiences, picture walk, teacher reads for enjoyment

Day 2: Teacher reads and students popcorn read. Discuss author, illustrator, setting, characters, problem

Day 3, 4, 5: Various activities include: rhyming text, vocabulary words, sight words, echo read, choral read, act out story, count words on each page, count syllables in words, draw favorite part of story, art activity related to story, class books using pattern of book, read other books on same theme or same author.

9:30 - 9:50 Writing: 1. Teacher models wirting, 2. Kids draw and write. 3. 5 students share writing.

9:50 - 10:30  Doing Words and Literacy centers: read the room, write the room, computer games, alphabet games, puzzles, writing center, book center. Teachers work with small groups or individuals.

10:30 - 10:45 Handwashing

10:45 - 11:15 Lunch

11:15 - 11:45  Recess

11:45 - 12:00  Drinks and relax

12:00 - 12:20  Math

12:20 - 12:50  Special Classes

12:50 - 1:15  Self Selected Reading

1:15 - 1:45  Choice time:  Choices are:  computer, puzzles, games, dramatic play, art center, blocks, reading center, writing center, phonic center.  Teacher and assistant work with individuals or small groups.

1:45 - 2:00  Snack

2:00 - 2:15 Closing and Class New

2:15 - 2:30 Announcements and Dismissal
